Visual Identity, Editorial Design
‘Make a Mark’ presents some distinct examples of the design and creativity of protest throughout history. The exhibition highlights how design has been used as a tool to help demand change, to show solidarity and support, to give identity and to allow activists, occupiers and campaigners to come together and express feelings in a practical and visual way. Make a Mark aims to inspire the audience to get involved and get creative.
Bold and alliterative call to action copywriting along with case study style breakdowns of different examples of protest to get the audience inspired. Black and White was used as the backdrop for the colourful and broad range of protest imagery. Inverted tear-out cards at the end of each chapter then serve as a How To guide for the audience to take part in the event which takes place in SFMOMA.
